I Spent Over $100 at Target on Valentine’s Day Decor and I Don’t Regret It

The season of love is right around the corner, and no place is more ready for it than Target. While some might shy away from it, I love pink and hearts, so when I came across Valentine’s Day decor at my local Target, I figured this was going to do some serious damage to my bank account. I was right — I left Target with $100 less than I started with and a bag full of throw pillows, candles, and felt decorations. You might be thinking, “Did you actually spend that much on Valentine’s Day decor from Target?” Yes, I did and I don’t regret it — not one bit. After all, February is dreary, so why not indulge in some colorful decor?

Here are the adorable items I walked away with.

For starters, I purchased a few throw pillows to put on my bed. One of my goals for the year is to spruce up my bedroom, and I figured this would be the perfect way to do that. I got two of the Shaped Rib Plush Heart Valentine’s Day Pillows and one Valentine’s Day Knit Checkered Hearts Lumbar Throw Pillow. It’s worth noting the pillows are pretty small, but they really bring a room to life. 

No room in my apartment is complete without a candle, of course, so I decided to get two of them — the 3-Wick XOXO Red Roses Candle and the Ceramic Heart Shaped Candle. They were $10 each — not too shabby for a candle! Although I have dozens of Bath and Body Works candles at my apartment, I couldn’t resist the pink heart-shaped ceramic holder. I figure once the candle runs out, I’ll wash it out and use it as a jewelry holder. 

Next, I tossed the 2pk Valentine Pink/Red Heart Photo Holder into my cart. Frankly, I don’t have any photos to use in them, but I liked the way they looked. A $5 decorative accent? Don’t mind if I do. 

Here’s where I went off the rails — I purchased the Valentine’s Day Serving Platter, Spritz Heart Banner and Valentine’s Felt Heart Wreath. Not that these aren’t cute, but I really didn’t have a need for them — an impulse buy for sure. Now that I’ve had them for a few weeks, they are growing on me, especially the serving platter. I don’t use it to serve food, but instead as a jewelry holder next to my bed. 

After all was said and done, I didn’t actually spend $100 on Valentine’s Day decorations alone — all of this love-themed goodness cost me $75, while I spent $25 on my actual shopping list. It’s hard to find pink room decor outside of February, so I figured I might as well splurge while it’s available — and at these prices, how can you resist? Honestly, it’s one of the best ways to be your own Valentine.
