Arachnophobes might want to avoid Kim Kardashian’s house this Halloween. The reality TV star turned her Calabasas home into a massive tarantula for All Hallows’ Eve. And reader, as an arachnophobe, I hate it. Kardashian shared a series of Instagram Reels on October 31, walking her followers through the exterior and interior of her (faux) spider-filled home. What’s more, Kardashian revealed that tarantulas are actually her “worst nightmare”—and the decorations are an effort to help confront her fear of the eight-legged critters.
“Since Halloween was canceled and there’s no trick or treating or parties, I wanted my house to be festive for the kids,” Kardashian says in the first Reel. “It’s kind of my worst nightmare to see a giant tarantula on my house, but wait until you see inside.” Outside, a massive tarantula sits over the doorway, and everything is draped with white cobwebs. Inside the house, there are even more cobwebs and decorative life-sized tarantulas. The hallways are all illuminated by red lighting and spooky music.
In another Reel, Kardashian leads her followers into her kitchen, where the island and appliances are similarly decked out in cobwebs. On the television mounted on the wall, a bunch of smaller spiders disperse throughout the screen.
The extravagant Halloween decor comes after Kardashian dressed up as “Tiger King” star Carole Baskin for Halloween. She rocked a flower crown and leopard-print top, while her longtime friend Jonathan Cheban completed the coordinated look with a Joe Exotic costume. Kardashian’s four kids, North, 7, Chicago, 2, Saint, 4, and Psalm, 1, all dressed like little tigers.
Between the “Tiger King” costumes and tarantula Halloween decor, it’s getting downright spooky in the Kardashian-West household.
